Jimmy Johnson (quarterback)
James E. Johnson (June 6, 1879 – January 19, 1942) was an American football player. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1969. Biography Johnson was born on June 6, 1879 in Edgerton, Wisconsin. Johnson, one-half Stockbridge Indian, attended Carlisle Indian Industrial School from 1899 to 1903, where he starred on the Carlisle football team. Coached by Pop Warner, the team was composed entirely of American Indian students and was a true national powerhouse in the early 20th century. In 1903, Walter Camp named Johnson as the All-American quarterback. Johnson also served as Carlisle's team captain in the same season. Following his career at Carlisle, Johnson enrolled in Northwestern's Dental School and played on the football team during the 1904 and 1905 seasons, also becoming a team captain for Northwestern and leading the team to success despite a depleted roster. Norman James Johnson (November 7, 1942 – May 4, 2021) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He played eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Los Angeles Kings from 1964 to 1972. He went on to play three seasons in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Minnesota Fighting Saints and Indianapolis Racers from 1972 to 1975. Early life Johnson was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 7, 1942. He played three seasons for the Winnipeg Rangers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League from 1959 to 1961, before joining the Sudbury Wolves of the Eastern Professional Hockey League the following season. Life James Paul Johnson was born in Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota. He earned his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1952 and later earned an LL.B. from the University of Colorado in 1959. He commanded the 21 SAS (TA), after which he led Britain's clandestine war against Egyptian forces in Yemen during the mid-1960s. Early life and early work Johnson was born and grew up in Lanett, Alabama, graduating from Lanett High School in 1970. Jimmy Johnson (born 1956) is an American bass guitarist best known for his work with James Taylor, Allan Holdsworth, and Flim & the BB's. Raised in a rich musical environment, his father was a 47-year member of the Minnesota Orchestra's bass section, his mother a piano teacher and accompanist, and his brother Gordon is also a professional bassist. The original group carnation consists of Jay Whiss, Jimmy Prime and Donnie and the trio released their debut studio album ''Koba World'' on July 27, 2018. James Earl Thompson (November 25, 1928 – January 31, 2022), known professionally as Jimmy Johnson, was an American blues guitarist and singer. Early life Johnson was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi, on November 25, 1928. Several of his brothers had careers in music, among them soul musician Syl Johnson and bassist Mack Thompson, who played with Magic Sam. In his younger years, he played piano and sang in gospel groups. He and his family moved to Chicago in 1950, where he worked as a welder and played guitar in his spare time. He began playing professionally with Slim Willis in 1959, changing his last name to Johnson, as did his brother Syl. As a guitarist he was influenced by Buddy Guy and Otis Rush.
